Freeloaders

Freeloaders are an abomination upon society, and yet, they are part and parcel of the Entitlement generation created by creeping socialism.
They are everywhere you turn and even in your car on the way to YOUR JOB, where you, hypothetically, bust your butt trying to EARN your daily bread.
They permeate society, government, industry, the courts.
A true Libertarian society would, at least, decimate their ranks to those who are actually in need and direct them to private charities and other traditional source of assistance.
Instead of running the Poor, Poor, Pitiful Me scam on government agencies and in the streets of America taking honestly given charity away from those who are in need.
Plus, they create and foster greater cynicism on the part of the general public when said public learns the depths of their laziness, duplicity and greed.
Screw 'em all. Give to a decent charity, like the Salvation Army or the Red Cross, who have the highest ratio of money to the public and smallest of money to administration of said charities.

INNOCENTS BETRAYED -- Just say NO to gun control

CranioColonic Displacement

There are a couple of guys that hang out at the corner of Capitol Park in Sacramento who are obviously hippies or Viet Vets. (Right age bracket anyway) And they are exercising their right of free speech with signs aimed at traffic.
Not the usual "Hi, I'm homeless and/or lazy so give me money" signs. Political opinion signs.
Good for them. Use that First Amendment. Express yourself.
But, OMG!
These use the swastika under a list of conservative organizations or persons. i.e. Palin, Tea Party, the list goes on.
I understand how the ill informed and undereducated might hold low opinions of those groups or persons, but to equate them with Nazis.
That is far beyond the pale.
It also negates the import of any other messages these individuals might wish to convey to the average motoring public in downtown Sacramento.
Such as "end the war", "bring our boys home". which I am in agreement with, although for different reasons and thought processes.
These two gentlemen are long haired, not a bad thing by itself, overweight, over 50, and expressing irrational opinions. Altogether not a combination guaranteed to engender sympathy or agreement in the few moments the average driver has to scan the signs full of opinions and slanders directed at the conservative right.
Anyway, sometimes, ya just gotta wonder. Rx

Hayek, economist and oracle

F. Hayek, is one of the greatest minds in Economics.
His "The Road to Serfdom" is an illustration of the state of the world and America today.
We, the citizens, have become serfs.
We have little or no choice about the rules, regulations and laws that are enacted to rule our daily lives.
We have absolutely no choice or voice about the extreme taxation that burdens us virtually into oblivion.
We are at the mercy of thugs, crooks, police and, even worse, politicians.
Politicians are the visible portions of the new aristocracy that runs the country to suit themselves. Recent developments on the national front illustrate this beautifully.
Thugs and crooks exist in a kind of limbo where they emerge to take from us, similar to politicians, our possessions, our money, our very lives and they return to that space where they hide to emerge at their leisure.
Our courts are riddled with "pragmatists" and "realists" who would rather make a deal than actually go to court for a conviction. Plea bargaining is the modern way.
Meanwhile our prisons are costing millions in tax dollars to keep drug USERS in prison. While the real criminals like dealers, importers and the like who can afford attorneys walk around scot free.
The thugs and crooks who actually end up doing time, see it as a vacation with three hots and a cot. And they spend their time learning the next way to steal from you.
The University of San Quentin, where they teach Burglary 101, Identity Theft for Fun and Profit, Kidnapping Made Easy, and, of course, Torture for Enemies and Victims.
Read history. Man has been here before, and apparently will be here again in the overall scheme of things.
But, we are concerned with RIGHT NOW.
We just have to survive this cycle as a nation and a people. We can do it.

What I hear

Well, it is apparent that this blog is not connected to anything of importance, so I will just use it to comment on stuff I see and hear.
In the course of my business I come into contact with a wide variety of people from all social strata and engage them in conversation.
This conversations are generally short and extremely interesting, as the people are passengers in my taxi and feel safe enough in their anonymity to express their own true opinions and feelings to a faceless entity in the driver's seat.
And the feeling overall, across the board, is that we are heading into a very rough time for America and especially California.
Nobody has any concrete ideas about how to counter the downward trend, but virtually everybody sees it.
Some just try to maintain the Positive Mental Attitude and hope things will work themselves out, one way or another.
Others are of the opinion that change is in order. Either through approaches such as the Tea Party groups, or more radical approaches like the Middle East is experiencing right now.
Everybody hates the government interference in our personal lives, especially the taxation, which has grown exponentially, and includes all the fees, licenses, fines, and whatever other terms of misdirection the nomenklatura care to use to disguise their blatant picking of our pockets.
Everybody knows somebody that has suffered personal loss at the hands of one or the other of our "governments" and/or the current economic "downturn".
Someone who has lost a job, a house, savings, retirement. Something major that is or will affect their lives in a fairly drastic manner.
This has them concerned. They see this as up close and personal, clear evidence that stuff is Happening in Their World, not just in the world of tv news or papes.
The Tea Party is one facet of the reaction to events and the course of history.
Unfortunately, they do not have the universal appeal needed to draw a majority of the populace together at the same time in enough numbers to create and/or lead change.
The galvanizing event required has not happened yet.
It will be very interesting to witness that event. Our own version of Tianenmen Square, Egypt, Libya and others.
I can't hardly wait.....

Islam in America

The rancor about the proposed Mosque/Visitor Center near Ground Zero is obviously all about hate.
And, while I actually agree with those against placing the Center at that location, my motives are, I think, more along the practical lines.
Regardless of the professed motives of those behind the concept, such a center would, in fact, become a "Holy Site" to those who adhere to the anti-American philosophy.
Those who danced and cheered to the music of destruction when the Towers fell. Such is the cultural posture of the violent sectarians.
Which, Apparently, Americans are beginning to mirror.
Despite the rhetoric of Freedom of Religion, Press, Speech, etc., the media is now full of HateSpeak from all corners of American Society.
Does no one remember the early days of WWII, when the army and police rounded up everyone who even looked Japanese and crowded them into Concentration Camps?
When vicious attacks on innocent people who just happened to look like someone's idea of the enemy were commonplace and rarely prosecuted?
What of the many years after the Civil War right up to the 1960's and even after that lynching, torturing and just plain killing blacks was not just commonplace, but an accepted practice in some parts of the country.
It is all a reprise of the Infidel Factor.
The concept is one of reverse solidarity. i.e., If you don't belong to my group, club, religion, political faction or whatever, then you JUST DON'T MATTER!
I/We can do anything we want to you because you JUST DON'T MATTER!
You can't practice your religion here in my town, my state, my country, because you JUST DON'T MATTER!

Well, those people are WRONG!
The framers of the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of the United States may have been Christians, hence their over free use of references to their God, but the concept of religious freedom depicted in those crucial documents was not and is not exclusive. It is INCLUSIVE.
Religious freedom is and should be for ALL THE PEOPLE. Across the spectrum of religious beliefs without exception.
To those who preach hate, from either side, GET OVER YOURSELF!
To those who attack people for so called religious reasons, GET OVER YOURSELF!
To those who attack random individuals for "patriotic reasons", GET OVER YOURSELF!
To those who condemn religions other than their own, for that reason alone, GET OVER YOURSELF!
There are crazy people all over the world. America is no exception. Crazy people do crazy things. Watch TRU TV for an hour or two, you'll see that.
Direct your animosity where it needs to be. At the source. The Taliban. Al Qaeda. The KKK. The American Nazi Party. Fundamentalist Fanatics wherever they are.
Oh, and don't forget the French.
Just because.
That was an attempt to lighten the mood, I am no fan of the French, but have nothing personal against them, so don't hate them just because I said so, please.
I am no fan of religion either, but I don't encourage bigotry of any sort.
Think about your reasons before acting rashly. You might be able to see the holes in your own logic.
Thank you for your time.

Government in Private Sector

As should be obvious to everyone, the state of our country is an indictment of our system. And the system is definitely set up to benefit those already on top and/or in charge.
This is obvious to anyone with a working brain.
We are apparently heading for a repeat of the Great Depression. With a few new wrinkles, such as Soviet style government intervention in the private sector.
Although, it is beyond the realm of imagination how anyone can possibly believe government, which is the epitome of incompetence and mismanagement could possibly do any better than actual business people.
The main difference being that government employees and/or politicos are generally immunized from any real world consequences of their actions. They have no real investment in the success of what they are doing.
There is no real incentive for performance. All they need to do is provide the appearance of progress or at least action. Make a show of "doing something." They risk nothing. They feel no need of exertion. Nor of performance.
Where an actual business person is laying it on the line. Professionally, financially and personally.. They are at risk.
Yet, virtually every day the Socialists (pronounced Democrats) tell us, via B.O., that they can do it better.
I am waiting for the official announcement of their new Five Year Plan a la the Soviet Union of the 30's 40's and 50's.
The very famously unsuccessful debacles vividly illustration the total incompetence of government to function in that capacity.
As any who could actually read history instead of swallowing whole the Socialist New Speak version of it would know.
This is something Socialists in the educational system discourage, reading real history, that is.
They don't do it, so there is no need for anyone to do it.
They appear to be so caught up in fantasy of wishful thinking.
The world where anything is possible if they just BELIEVE hard enough and long enough.
Where they are so convinced of the "rightness" of their beliefs and opinions that no sacrifice on the part of other people is to great in the service of the "common good".
Because they are sure those beliefs and opinions are so superior to those of the "common man" and will lead to a Brave New World.
A perfect world.
A world where everyone who matters agrees with them and those who don't agree don't matter.
Or they are terrorists, fanatics, criminals,... the list goes on.
Labels are handy when Mainstream Media toss them around in not-so-subtle attempts to discredit anyone who doesn't agree. To prove by clever labeling that those individuals or groups really don't matter, because, after all, they are (see above list).
The basic concept is the same as used in the early church. Heretic. Nonbeliever. Devil worshiper. And other epithets designed to elicit the most emotional reactions from their audience.
And this concept goes back to the Infidel Factor. They don't believe the same as us, therefore they don't matter, they are a hindrance that needs to be expunged. Or at least disarmed and disabled to prevent them from "creating problems".
Or, pointing out problems the powers that be don't want looked at too extensively.
